Pilot Qualifications

  • All pilots hold RFAE (Real Federación Aeronáutica Española) tandem certification
  • Minimum 500 logged tandem flights before flying with passengers
  • Annual medical examination and certification renewal
  • Regular recurrent training with qualified examiners
  • Licensed by AESA (Agencia Estatal de Seguridad Aérea)
  • Full professional liability insurance — €1,000,000 cover per incident

Equipment & Maintenance

  • All gliders are certified EN-D tandem wings, inspected every 100 hours of flight time
  • Harnesses checked and re-certified annually
  • Helmets replaced on a set schedule or after any impact
  • Reserve parachutes packed and certified every 6 months
  • Full equipment overhaul before each season and after any incident
  • Equipment sourced from leading manufacturers: Advance, Gin, U-Turn

Weather Decision Process

  • Pilots check multiple weather models from 48 hours before your flight
  • Final go/no-go decision made each morning by the chief pilot
  • Flights cancelled if wind exceeds safety thresholds at any point in the route
  • Thermal strength and cloud base assessed at take-off before every launch
  • Ground abort protocol: pilots can cancel at launch if conditions change
  • All cancellations result in a free reschedule or full refund — no exceptions

Passenger Requirements

  • Minimum age: 7 years old (parental consent required under 18)
  • Maximum weight: 110 kg per passenger
  • Minimum weight: 30 kg (to ensure harness fit)
  • Pregnant passengers: not permitted at any stage of pregnancy
  • Heart conditions, epilepsy, or recent surgery: medical sign-off required
  • Under the influence of alcohol or drugs: flight denied, deposit forfeited
  • All passengers complete a health declaration before flight

Briefing & Preparation

  • Full ground briefing covers launch, flight, and landing procedures
  • Passengers are shown exactly what to do and what to expect at each stage
  • Correct running technique demonstrated and practised before launch
  • Equipment fitting checked by pilot before harness is closed
  • Landing approach explained in detail — you only need to run a few steps
  • Briefing available in English, Spanish, German, French and Russian

Emergency Procedures

  • Pilots trained in emergency reserve deployment and stall recovery
  • Emergency landing zones identified at all flying sites
  • First aid kit and communication equipment carried on every flight
  • Mountain rescue coordination protocols established with local emergency services
  • All incidents reported to RFAE and AESA as required by regulation
  • Post-incident debrief and review before returning to operations
